My Simple Everyday Make Up

Is not so simple after all! Hahaha! :P

Even though I am now a Professional Freelance Make Up Artist, I'm not one to go out with a fully made up face on a daily basis. Why? First, because I really do think that make up's primary role is just to accentuate and enhance our best features forward, really. I mean, hey I deal with what I've been given and I think a little somethin somethin here and there is just what I need. Not that I have such flawless and beautiful face to begin with, but because I think our minor flaws can also be that distinct feature that gives character to our face.  Second, my full time office work only requires me to be in the office in front of my laptop 8 hrs a day (I know, b-o-r-i-n-g!) so no one to face except for my teammates. And next, the summer heat is just plain killing me!

In short, I like to keep it easy, fast and simple. So, I present to you my everyday beauty arsenal:

my daily make up buddies: Kryolan, Graftobian, Nurturing Force, Clinique, In2It

my daily make up buddies: Bobbi Brown, Ever Bilenna, Maybelline, NYX, Avon

The key  is to determine first what your best feature is. In my case, I'd have to say my eyes. Eversince I was young, I have always been told I have such big eyes to the point that my playmates teased me about it. There were times I even became shy and conscious about it, but as I grow up (or older, hehe!) I came to realized that it actually is my best asset! Funny noh? So, here's my daily beauty fix just before I got to work:

1. About 5 minutes after moisturizing my face (currently using AVON's ANEW 360° White Protective cream), eyes with my also current eye cream (will blog about it, too) and lips with my fave petroleum jelly,  I lightly apply some Nurturing Force Anti Shine just on my t-zone area.
2. If my undereye area looks too dark for my taste, I will correct and conceal with my Graftobian wheels, otherwise I will skip this step altogether.
3. Next, I pump a small amount of the Kryolan's Tinted Moisturizer at the back of my left hand to warm it up. I then apply it on my face, sometimes using my fingers other times with a foundation brush- really depends on my mood. I start in the middle of my face-- the nose, forehead and chin areas and then spread it out my entire face. I find that it's important to start with a minimal amount of product and then just add some more if you require additional coverage. Personally, I like it light since I have not much to conceal with anyway. Just more like to even out my skin tone.
4. To brighten my undereyes (whether I skip step no. 2 or not) I apply some Clinique Airbrush concealer using its built in applicator brush and gently dab, more like press it, with my ring finger.
5. I then set my face with my Kryolan Translucent powder. Again, either with a face brush, a puff or stippling brush.
6. Now, I will fill in my brows with In2It Waterproof Eyebrow colour.
7. I will line my upper lid using Cezanne Brown Ultra Fine Eyeline (special shoutout to The Stepfordwith for this!). I just realized it's not included in the photo above but I do love this one! Go click on the link for the review. :)
8. Next will be to curl my lashes and apply black mascara, in this case, it's Maybelline's Hyper Curl Volum'Express.
9. When I'm done with my peepers, blush comes next. These days, it just varies between these 3-- Ever Bilena's cheek blush in Earth or Tangerine and Bobbi Brown's Pale Pink blush.
10. Lastly, I put on some lipcolors. Usually a toss between Bobbi Brown's Guava, NYX's Fig or Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sao Paulo and Avon's Ultra Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick in Passionate Kiss.

Wow, I didn't realized it will be this long! Haha! But really, I don't think it takes me more than 10 minutes to do this. Of course there will still be those lazy/errand days, and in that case, it will only be just undereye concealer, eyeliner, mascara, and some popping lip color :)

Now, that's not to say I don't like getting dolled up ha! Of course I do, and I embrace the opportunity if and when it presents itself. :)

So, how about you? What is your daily make up routine?
